Privacy Policy
The Queer Hub
Last updated: August 23, 2026
The short version
The Queer Hub collects the minimum it needs to answer your questions, schedule your sessions, and take your payment. It doesn't sell your information to anyone, ever.
The Queer Hub provides coaching and education — not healthcare. That means the information you share here is not protected by HIPAA. It is protected by this policy and by the confidentiality commitments in the client agreement, which is a different and more limited thing. That distinction matters, so it's stated plainly up front rather than buried.
1. Who this covers
This policy applies to thequeerhub.net, to any forms or booking pages linked from it, and to information shared in the course of coaching with The Queer Hub.
The Queer Hub is a professional limited liability company registered in Arkansas.
2. What is collected
When you contact or book: name, email address, phone number (optional), which services you're interested in, and whatever you choose to share in your message or in conversation with me — including your pronouns, if you tell me them.
When you buy something: billing name, email, and transaction details. Payment card information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never received or stored by The Queer Hub.
When you join the email list: email address and name.
When you visit the site: standard analytics — pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, referring site. This is aggregate and not used to identify individuals.
During coaching: whatever you choose to share, plus scheduling records and meeting notes. Notes are kept as ordinary business records. They are not clinical records, and no diagnosis, assessment, or treatment information is recorded, because none is provided.
3. What it's used for
- Responding to inquiries
- Scheduling, delivering, and following up on sessions
- Processing payments
- Sending email you've asked to receive
- Improving the website
- Meeting legal and tax obligations
Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. It is not used for advertising targeting, and it is not shared with data brokers.
4. Who else touches your data
Service providers used to run the business. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Website and forms — Squarespace
- Scheduling — Calendly
- Video sessions — Google Meet
- Payments — Stripe
- Email newsletter — Mailchimp
Information is shared with these providers only as needed to deliver the service.
Beyond that, information is disclosed only when:
- You ask for it to be
- The law requires it, including valid legal process
- There is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or someone else
- Mandatory reporting obligations apply
5. Confidentiality, and its limits
What you share is treated as confidential and is not discussed with anyone without your permission.
But this is contractual confidentiality, not legal privilege. Conversations with a coach do not carry the protections that attach to therapy or medical care. There is no coach–client privilege in Arkansas. If records were subpoenaed, they could be compelled.
If confidential, privileged support is what you need, that's a good reason to work with a licensed therapist, and The Queer Hub will help you find one.
6. Not a HIPAA covered entity
The Queer Hub does not provide healthcare, does not bill insurance, and does not transmit health information electronically in the ways that trigger HIPAA. It is not a covered entity, and HIPAA does not apply to information shared here.
This is stated explicitly because people reasonably assume that anyone with clinical credentials operates under HIPAA. In this business, that assumption would be wrong.
7. How long things are kept
- Inquiry messages: 1 year
- Client records and meeting notes: 3 years after our last contact
- Payment and tax records: 7 years, as required by law
- Email list: until you unsubscribe
Records are deleted on request unless a law requires them to be kept.
8. Security
Information is stored in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication enabled. Paper notes, if any, are kept locked.
No system is perfectly secure, and no absolute guarantee can be made — but the practical protections above are actually in place, not aspirational.
9. Your choices
You can ask to:
- See what information is held about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Have your information deleted
- Unsubscribe from email at any time — every email has a link
- Decline to answer anything on an intake form
Email kelrod@thequeerhub.net and it will be handled within 30 days.
10. Cookies
The site uses cookies for basic function and analytics. Your browser can block them; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
11. People under 18
The Queer Hub serves adults. Services are not offered to anyone under 18, and information is not knowingly collected from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information, email kelrod@thequeerhub.net and it will be deleted.
Family sessions are with the adult family member as the client. Minors are not clients, are not present, and are not assessed.
12. If you're outside Arkansas
Coaching is not a licensed activity, so The Queer Hub can work with clients in other states and countries. Your information will be processed in the United States. If you are in a region with additional data rights — the EU or UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA — those rights are honored on request.
13. Changes
This policy will change as the business changes. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be announced by email to anyone on the list.
